Why Bloggers Should Care About Audience Fragmentation

Why Bloggers Should Care About Audience Fragmentation Media and crowd discontinuity has been a wellspring of stress for TV and conventional media. In the past everybody in the country plunked down to watch similar shows simultaneously. Yet, now,â instead of a couple of telecom companies with a bunch of projects that huge areas of the nation would observe together, there are currently hundreds and many TV slots and projects. Also, lets not overlook that gushing administrations like Hulu or Netflix. The crowd is presently divided. Were not all on the same wavelength, expending a similar substance, understanding similar references. Theres progressively decision, and sub-bunches are made dependent on their favored decisions. There is not, at this point one enormous crowd. There are many, numerous audiences.Audience discontinuity is commonly proclaimed as a Bad Thing for conventional media. Is it awful for content advertising, as well? Crowd Fragmentation And Blogging When blogging began back in the mid-1990s, it was somewhat similar to early TV. There were a couple of websites, and generally would in general spread expansive this is my life themes. There werent such a large number of specialty websites (however there were a couple). WordPress showed up on the scene in 2003, alongside something different that altered the course of blogging: AdSense. With the appearance of AdSense came the chance to bring in cash through blogging rather than simply utilizing it to share an online journal. By 2005, there were 32 million Americans perusing blogs,â meta websites (writes that discussed blogging) were detonating in fame, and individuals started to concentrate all the more distinctly on the most proficient method to bring in cash blogging. By 2010, there were 152 million web journals. The capacity to bring in cash off of a blog fundamentally prompted specialty web journals. All things considered, you could get more cash-flow through a firmly engaged crowd than a wide, general one with coming and going premium. Specialty web journals, similar to link systems and gushing video, prompted fracture in blog readers. Blog perusers learned they could search for explicit substance that they had an enthusiasm for. Most werent understanding general or character based online journals that didnt at any rate have a recognizable specialty subject. Dont Panic About Audience Fragmentation Media expert and blogger David Brennan has aâ less negative takeâ on crowd discontinuity for customary media. While Brennan recognizes that there is not, at this point a couple of colossal crowd bunches expending similar media, he contends that fracture has permitted individuals who ordinarily wouldnt sit in front of the TV to begin viewing. Utilizing two explicit instances of individuals who probably won't have observed a lot of TV previously, he finishes up  that this specific crowd has an energy which discontinuity time communicate TV would now be able to fulfill; which has unobtrusively brought about essentially expanded long stretches of review from the most far-fetched crowds. At the end of the day, crowd discontinuity broke the huge nonexclusive crowds, yet in addition acquired new media customers who werent part of any crowd whatsoever. It helpedâ growâ media consumers. Big general crowds will in general reject the periphery crowds. When divided, those sections found one another, and the periphery crowds had a spot to go. Rather than one approach to contact one crowd, there are presently numerous approaches to contact numerous crowds. On the off chance that you needed to, you could take a gander at it as an aggregate zero game.

Dantes Representation of Women and the Ideal Woman in the Inferno - Free Essay Example

When researching the ideal woman nowadays, every website provides scientific studies and cultural research, which all point to the same results: that men prefer a small waist, long legs, and a large chest, with nothing about the womans personality characteristics. One of the most compelling facets of the Inferno can be the portrayal of females by Dante Alighieri. He paints the picture of the quintessentially perfect female through the character Beatrice. She serves as the stimulus in The Divine Comedy. Through the guidance of the Virgin Mary, St. Lucia convinced Beatrice to send an angelic messenger to Virgil to convince him to direct Dante on his expedition into the netherworld and through the different levels of Hell. In this way, Beatrice may be discerned as Dantes guardian angel and protector. It is Beatrices adoration for Dante that lights the way for him to leave the Dark Woods of Error and enter Gods light. Because of Dantes love and affection for Beatrice, she characterizes his ideal female, and thereby becomes the standard by which he compares all other women which is shown by his descriptions of the female sinners, those who were harmed by other peoples sins, and the demons of the underworld. Beatrice is only in the Inferno for a short while, since such divine beings only exist outside of the boundaries of Hell, which is described as a corrupt, twisted version of the hierarchy depicted in Heaven. Since Beatrice is deemed by Dante as the perfect model of femininity, all of the feminine creatures that Dante encounters in Hell are essentially her antithesis. In the second circle of Hell: the Realm of the Lustful, Dante encounters historically infamous lovers along with a couple from his own world, Paolo and Francesca. It is in Francescas tale of their love, which the reader can see the deviation between the female occupants of Hell with Beatrice, the exemplary female. Francesca describes their history as: Love, which in gentlest hears will soonest bloom seized my lover with passion for that sweet body from which I was torn unshriven to my doom (v. 97-99). In her tale, the reader can see a greater concentration on the physical characteristics of love, whereas the love of Beatrice for Dante can be described as a pure, divine love. The difference in the types of love that the two couples share is ultimately drawn down two what their love was rooted in. The love Francesca hold for Paolo was cultivated through weakness, the temptation of her body, which damns her and her lover to Hell where they are to be eternally flooded by wind. However, Beatrices love for Dante is rooted in holiness, which helps her guide him on his own road into the light of God. Dante also encounters a female character in the eighth circle of Hell, the flatterer Thais, as she resides in poverty for her sins. Unlike Francesca, whose weakness was her temptation, Thais sin was one of her own intellect. She devalued the station of women in society by her rejection of the feminine ideal and by treating herself and womankind as filth, she was sentenced to decay in filth in her afterlife. Dante not only juxtaposes the feminine ideal with sinners, but also with those who were sinned against. It is in the eighth circle of Hell in which we find those which sinned against women, panderers and seducers. It is here where Dante finds Venedico Caccianemico, who prostituted Ghisola, his sister, in order to gain political favor, as well as Jason, who was the adulterous spouse of Medea and seducer Hypsiplye. It is the men of this circle which repudiated and warped the feminine ideal. During the Middle Ages, in which Dante lived, prostitution was a common activity and women usually held the blame for acts of adultery. The way Dante respects and views women didnt become a common viewpoint for a couple more decades during the Renaissance. The deviation between the feminine inhabitants of the underworld and Beatrice is not only visible in the human sinners as many of the demons which Dante encounters also represent a reverted form of the feminine ideal. Dante encounters the three Erinyes, or Furies, close to the Gate of Dis where they guard a tower. As opposed to Beatrices serene, quiet personality, Dante describes the Erinyes as heliish and inhumane (ix. 34) as their claws tear at their own chests, with horned serpents [that grow] from their heads (ix 37-38). With their looks and actions being so far away from his representation of the perfect female, he seems unsure himself as to whether they are actually female, however he bases his conjecture of their femininity based on their limbs and gestures (ix 35). It is when they see him and call Medusa to turn him into stone that an angelic messenger, thought to be sent by Beatrice, comes to protect him from Medusas deadly gaze and lets Virgil and Dante pass safely through the gates of Dis. Although not specifically identified as female characters in the Inferno, the harpies, kin to the Erinyes, are commonly portrayed as having the face of a woman and the body of a bird in literature. Dante describes these monstrous creatures in which: Their wings are wide, their feet clawed, their huge bellies/ covered with feathers, their necks and faces human (xiii. 13-14). As inhabitants of the Wood of Suicides, the harpies survive off of the leaves of the trees and have to impose pain upon the trees in order to live. With each wound they inflict upon the tree, the bark of the tree, which acts as a suit of armor guarding the soul, cracks and the soul is forced to encounter the world which it wanted to escape. In this way, that the harpies make their living by inflicting pain and suffering onto others. As the quintessential perfect female, Beatrices kind and loving nature is the standard by which Dante judges all other females which he encounters. Because of Dantes love and respect for Beatrice, he shows a heightened regard for females compared to the rest of society, especially considering the age in which he lived. His love for Beatrice was a substantial influence on his perspective of females in the world around him, and also how Dante described the female inhabitants of Hell.

The Globalization of ExxonMobil from 1980 to Present

Since its discovery back in the year 1858 crude oil has been become one of the most sought after resources on the face of the planet. It is due to this fact that the oil industry has fallen into a rather odd category in the case of globalization and seeking out new markets, new labor and new customers. The reason being that the need for crude oil and fuel is always present therefore the product of oil in its basic sense sells itself and the companies do not have to go out and publicly advertise it in the sense that clothing lines and other commodities do. Oil companies must focus more on the matter of why an individual should buy their oil and along with other alternative fuels over their competitors even though in the end the companies†¦show more content†¦It is by doing these three crucial acts that ExxonMobil is able to globalize the image of being the â€Å"Nice Oil Company on the block† and emulating this idea that if a consumer is going to buy fuel anyways, why not from the ExxonMobil. Exxon with 103 million dollars worth of revenue was by far the most dominant beating out the closest competitor, which was Royal Dutch by over thirty million dollars. Mobil Oil was not nearly as dominant in revenue but still bolstered a respectable with 59.5 million dollars worth of profit placing them in the upper half of the industry.1 As the 1980’s went on the oil industry began going through a bit of reconstruction in which efficiency and profit shot to the forefront of the minds of both oil executives and the companies stockholders. Fee, a Pentecostal scholar, â€Å"redefines the terms of discussion about the Holy Spirit in a way that transcends today’s†¦show more content†¦Finally, his call to know and experience God in a â€Å"vitally Trinitarian† way by the Spirit captures the very essence of Paul’s ministry and encapsulates the entire thesis of the book. Fee completes his writings with his own conclusion: â€Å"The Spirit must be reinstated into the Trinity, where he has never been excluded in our creeds and liturgies, but has been practically excluded from the experienced life of the church.† Moreover, he argues that the very nature of the Triune God, as being three yet one, must become the character of the church both in its oneness and in its function, by the very application of the Spirit’s threefold work of the Trinity. Without this experience, the witness of the churches to the Resurrection today will remain generally ineffective in comparison with the witness of the early Christians, though they lived in a culture very similar to ours. As the title of Fee’s book emphasizes, we are meant to find God’s Spirit empowering for us in the present era while at the same time awaiting the consummation of Christ’s final return. INTERACTION: FEE/ST. AUGUSTINE As we look at the writings of both St. Gregory and Gordon Fee, we see both similarities and differences. Marketing At A Business Organisation In Australia †Free Samples

Question: Discuss about the Marketing At A Business Organisation In Australia. Answer: Introduction The report focuses on the major aspects ofmarketing at a business organisation in Australia. It sheds limelight on the impact thatmarketing has created o the community as well as on the environmental stewardship, also known as sustainability. The environmental stewardship means using the natural resources properly to protect the environment and by managing good and effective sustainable practices within the business organisation. The marketing is the various approaches that are followed by the business organizations to market its products and services properly and manage the relationship between human beings and land and how a good ecological balance can be maintained within the organisation with ease and effectiveness (Baker et al. 2012). Economic Issues There are several economic issues that are faced by Woolworths in Australia such as recession period and increase in rate of unemployment, which has affected the financial performance and resulted in poor productivity, lower sales and less profit generation too. With the global financial crisis, the company further faced economic and financial issues and the condition of the organization further declined. It closed its operations during that time and more than 30,000 people were unemployed who were previously working for the company (Baker, Griffis and Ochsner 2012). The sales level also decreased, further leading to financial disruption and failing to assess the needs and requirements of different market segments in Australia. The retail industry within which the company operates is quite huge and continuous support was provided to Woolworths to continue with the business operations and generate good amounts of profit in business (Woolworths.com.au 2017). After Woolworths continued its operations, many of the unemployed individuals already started to work in other companies and thus the company faced some other issues with the recruitment and selection of skilled individuals who have the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance the efficacy of the workforce (Berliner and Prakash 2013). Another economic issue could be the rise in inflation rate that had resulted in increasing the prices of products and services and even managed the packaging methods at a higher rate for Myers. Though there were enough scopes for the company to ensure that the packaging activities had to be managed at a lower cost, still the plastic bags were used that not only acted as harmful substances to harm the ecological balance in nature. The rise in prices of products is another issue, though it is certain that it is important to cover everything within budget, though not compromising on the quality of products anyhow (Connolly et al. 2013). The sharp downturn in the economic growth of Australia has created various issues including less earning by the West farmers, suppliers, which posed to be a threat for the lower economic growth. Another issue considering the economic factors is that consumers have gone online nowadays and businesses often fails to implement the right online marketing tec hnique to attract and retain new and existing customers with ease and effectiveness. The economic issues can result in making persons lose jobs as well as make the individuals of the marketing industry to focus on the changes in economic growth and how information is consumed (Demarche et al. 2012). Monopoly is another economic issue that makes the business organizations set higher prices of products and services that will be delivered to the consumers. The agricultural markets constantly start changing and this results in changing the prices of products and services from time to time. The volatile markets even cause change in economic growth and profit level and this is a major issue, which can be overcome with the help of a proper marketing technique. The marketing approach can help in adapting to the market needs and analyse the expectations and preferences of customers consistently to make sure that sustainability practices are managed to enhance brand reputation (Driscoll et al . 2012). Through enhancement of brand image and reputation, it would be easy to create a positive mindset among the customers and make them know about the sustainability practices managed and how they could get fresh quality food and other products delivered by the company. Scarcity of resources is another major issue faced by organizations like JB HI-Fi that has been caused due to rise in population and high consumption by consumers in the developing economies (Woolworths.com.au 2017). This has resulted in higher prices, market volatility and a changing supply landscape.Myers has innovated its products and services through various marketing techniques to develop stronger relationship with the suppliers and ensure overcoming the economic issues quite comprehensively (Hollensen 2015). Legal issues One of the major issues that was faced by Woolworths, Freedom Foods Group in Australia had been the selling of unsafe and unhealthy products and services to the customers. Bellamys Organic was found to provide products that were not organic and even the food items had been made with artificial ingredients. The company was ordered to pay $3 million dollars as penalty for selling the products and services that had been causing health related issues for many individuals. This was a major legal issue, because the Government failed to understand the entire situation and even failed to alert the authorities and make the issue known to the higher management, as required by law (Wilson et al. 2012). Though the company staffs explained this matter as a misinterpretation of certain characteristics and features of the products, still companies like Freedom Foods Group and Bellamys Organic were subjected to mislead interpretations regarding the safety of certain home brand products and services. Even few of the customers faced injuries and harms due to certain harmful chemicals present in the products. The products of Woolworths not only created injury to the individual but also deteriorated his physical condition, thereby making the customers need healthcare. Due to the poor quality products and unhealthy products, not only the environmental stewardship has been damaged but also the consumers have been unsatisfied (Wolf et al. 2013). Other issues related to the legal aspects had been not meeting up to the quality standards, which had created different problems for MCOR like bad brand image and reputation and decrease in sales revenue as well. MCOR used to sell eco friendly products but with time, the quality of products delivered deteriorated due to the inorganic ingredients that were used and this failed to meet the quality standards. To overcome this issue, the quality assurance program is necessary during the management of marketing to deliver end-to-end services and m onitor the progress all throughout the product life cycle (Baker, Griffis and Ochsner 2012). Sustainability has emerged as a major aspect for the management of increased global understanding where economics, health and well-being of customers, environment health and protection are interrelated. NIEHS allows for promoting the good health and well-being of the community and people living there and conduct researches to contribute to a string and valuable relationship between the environment and people. Few of the major issues were not complying with the state, federal and local environmental laws, rules and regulations and not meeting the environmental requirements responsibly (Baker et al. 2012). By making the environment quality improvements feasible though various marketing strategies like by managing sustainability practices, it would be easy to maintain the standards and meet the demands and preferences of customers as a whole. It was seen that during the processes of manufacturing and production, high amounts of wastes had been generated that had not only created polluti on to the environment, but also had hindered the maintenance of strategies and policies related to protection of the Environment. The resources would be consumed at less by ensuring that the wastes had been maintained properly (Baker, Griffis and Ochsner 2012). The marketing activities would include green technologies use that could create a positive impact on human health as well as promote sustainability and manage utilization of resources much more efficiently. To enhance the marketing and promotional activities and create a positive brand image among the minds of customers it would be important to provide education to all the employees and make them informed about the significance of environmental responsibility, furthermore sharing and exchanging proper and relevant information on the environmental performance with the public community (Berliner and Prakash 2013). Ethical issues There are different kinds of ethical issues in marketing that is faced by Woolworths, Australia in the recent years. The ethics in the advertisements as well as promotional activities in Myers and JB Hi Fi has created lot of ethical issues. Puffery is one such ethical issue faced by these two companies in Australia which made exaggerated claim on the superiority of different products upon the other competitors in the market. Deception is the other issue wherein Woolworths has made misleading or false statements in order to gain competitive advantage in the market (Krasny et al. 2014). This has led to the misunderstanding among the customers of Myers and many of the quality standards were not met, which further resulted in complexities to maintain the ethical standards as well. The other ethical issue is relating to the different advertisements that are related to the controversial products in the market (Barrage, Chyn and Hastings 2014). This has led to miscommunication among the customers as the respective supermarket has shown a false picture of a respective product that was ineffective in nature. This can lead to minimization of profit in the company as the customers will be facing trouble and this will lead to lack of trust among the customers about Woolworths as well. The ethical issues include damaging the personal autonomy or causing harm to the competitors in the market as well. When a respective company is causing harm to the competitors, it will lead to loss of reputation of the respective company as this will damage their personal autonomy (Vitell and Hunt 2015). The other unethical practice that has been observed is manipulating the social values and false advertisements done by Freedom Food group and Organic can affect the trust and faith of the individuals in the society negatively. The company stated use of organic substances deliberately, though knowing that the inorganic ingredients have been used nowadays that are often ignored by the customers. These can lead to lack of faith of the customers on the respective company and there will be issues over trust and honesty among the customers as well (Leonidou, Leonidou and Kvasova 2013). There can be unethical issues relating to the taste as well as controversy among the customers of the particular supermarket as well. The other unethical practices are relating to the negative advertising techniques used by Woolworths wherein this can create loyalty issues among the customers as well. These unethical issues that have huge negative impact on the environmental stewardship as this can have direct impact on the nature as well as the customers as they are the ones who consume such products from the market by trusting the reliable communication provided by them (Woolworths.com.au 2017). There can be unethical issues related to the product that is sold by them such as selling different kinds of products that are banned in the host or home country. The company is not providing proper information about the different information relating to the side effects of specific products. This can lead to issues in the environmental stewardship as this is not potential and sustainable in nature (Ford and Richardson 2013). This can lead to unethical practices among the individuals who are the target customers of the respective company as well. Lastly, the other unethical practices that lead to issues in marketing of products are unnecessary packaging of different goods and these products can be unsafe to the customers as well. Such unethical practices have to be properly sorted out by the companies by implementation of different strategies that will help them in maintaining sustainable environment. Proper usage of advertisements, selling proper packaged goods to the customers and building proper trust among the customers will help them in maintaining environmental stewardship or potential environment (Woolworths.com.au 2017). Conclusion The report focused on the major concepts of marketing considering the various issues related to the economy, legality and ethics maintained at various business organizations in Australia. It could be seen that various economic issues like rise in inflation rate and plastic packaging created imbalance in the environmental conditions. The legal issues were delivering products that created harmful impacts on the health of individuals while the ethical issues were puffery, deception that damaged the personal autonomy and made the company fail to stay ahead of its competitors. All these issues were overcome with the sue of various marketing techniques so that the environmental sustainability is maintained and customers are kept safe and healthy from any harm that might be caused due to the products and services offered by Woolworths, Australia. The sustainability practices helped in maintaining a positive brand image and reputation, which created positive mindset among the customers, crea ted positive effects on the community and furthermore maintained proper environmental sustainability with ease and effectiveness too.
